Commissioned by the New York Museum of Modern Art as part of the “Groundswell” exhibit of Landscape Architecture in the Urban Setting, this atmospheric program intentionally is devoid of narration and music. Instead, it captures, via visuals and ambient sounds, the essence of Crissy Field in its present form as designed by renowned landscape architect George Hargreaves. Folded in to the experience are visual references to “before,” “after,” and “during” the reconstruction process, as well as selected history of this former military air field. Following a “day in the life” model, the video conveys the many ways Crissy Field is cherished and utilized by its countless visitors daily.
